Vijaya Karki


Vijaya is a theatre practitioner from Nepal. During her journey in theatre, Vijaya has been exploring several aspects of theatre like performance, operating lights and sound, stage management as well as directing. Vijaya worked as Stage Manager and Actor in several of Nepal’s musical theatre productions: Bodhi Chhaayaa, Kumari and the Beast, Hip-Hop Coppelia and The Flight. She also served as Assistant Director in some remarkable theatre productions. Adding to her expanding theatre experience, Vijaya tried her hand at play directing from the retelling of Ramayana - kleśāḥ. As a person who consistently believes in living beyond comfort, Vijaya got the opportunity to participate in several International Theatre Festivals including Asia’s largest theatre festival, Bharat Rang Mahotsav by the National School of Drama. This involved over half a dozen theatre productions, including The Diary of Anne Frank, Me and The Others, A Marriage Proposal and Mahabhoj.
